Vegan golden milk lattes are my new favorite mid-morning beverage. The turmeric and ginger have many healing properties, and they pair perfectly with the flavors of coconut and cinnamon. I loved using the Laird's Superfood Original Coconut Creamer in this, but offered a few modifications below in case you can't get your hands on a bag (though I would highly recommend buying some!).
Ingredients:
1 cup of unsweetened almond milk
1 tsp turmeric
1/4 tsp ginger powder (or 1 pinch of fresh ginger)
1/2 tsp cinnamon powder (or 1/2 a cinnamon stick)
1 tsp unrefined coconut oil (optional; omit this to cut calories)
1 tbsp Laird's Superfood Original Coconut Creamer (if you don't have this, use 1 tsp of agave, maple syrup, or stevia for some sweetness)
Directions:
Heat up your almond milk in the microwave or on the stove until warmed.
In an empty mug, add the powders and spices. Mix to evenly combine.
Add your heated almond milk to the mug.
Stir well to combine and until the coconut oil is melted.
Taste and add any additional spices or flavors.
Enjoy immediately.
Tips and Tricks:
I'd recommend pouring the heated almond milk over the powders since the action of pouring helps to blend and dissolve the powders better.
You can also add the almond milk to your mug when it's cold, then microwave to heat it up in order to save dishes. Just note that you will need to stir for a while to combine everything.
